Can I get cover before I move to Spain?

Is Sanitas accepted for residency visa applications?
Yes. Sanitas is one of Spain’s largest authorised insurers. Our policies are accepted by Spanish embassies worldwide and by all Spanish residency offices. We provide the official coverage certificate you need to include with your application.
Do I need to be in Spain to use the policy?
Your policy is active across Spain from day one you don’t need to be in Asturias to use it. Emergency cover also applies when travelling in Spain.
What if my visa application is refused?
Contact us and we’ll discuss your options. Depending on the plan and timing, there are usually solutions available. We’ll guide you through whatever happens.
Is there a waiting period before I can use the cover?
Emergency cover starts from day one with no waiting period. For planned procedures, some short waiting periods may apply depending on the plan. We’ll explain these clearly before you sign anything.
Can I include my partner and children?
Yes. You can cover your whole family under the same policy. Children under 14 usually have special pricing. Let us know your family situation and we’ll give you the exact figures.
